sigh

hallo, mein Huhnbrüste, ich bin hier mit viel Abneigung.
zu viel Zeit habt gone by and mein Anmerkungen now look very random to me, i can't recall the context in which i wrote many of these notes.
oh well...

first the pep talk.

guys! we can do it! we can pass this quiz! no problem! and we'll pass this entire class with flying colors, and move on to German 1B by CCSF teacher Monika Raehse-Weber, and pass that too!! nothing can stop us, this world is our oyster! yeah!!

oh and, ich habe marihuana für Verkauf if you want to buy some.

wait officer! i don't really! marihuana was at the top of the first page of my notes, and i wanted to use it in a sentence!! thats all!

well, if i get arrested before i finish these notes, y'all remember to just study pgs. 48-49 and that should get you well and prepped for tomorrow's quiz.

ooh, i just found some of my rare genuinely good notes. fertig?

first lets set some basic ground rules:

Singular: Ich - I, du - you, er/sie/es - he/she/it

Plural: wir - we, ihr - you, Sie/sie - formal You (plural?)/they
[editor's note: the reason i don't know if the above is a plural formal you, is my memory is blurry and I recall Dr. J saying she was merely putting the two sie's together because they conjugate the same, which may mean capital Sie is not in fact plural]

Verben - to verb (not a real word)
ich -e
du -st/est
er/sie/es -t
wir -en
ihr -t
Sie/sie -en

HERES SOME REGULARLY USED EXAMPLES.

Bauen - to build (regular)
ich baue
du baust / bauest (?)
er/sie/es baut
wir bauen
ihr baut
Sie/sie bauen

Essen - to eat (irregular)

er/sie/es ißt
wir essen
ihr eßt
Sie/sie essen

Fahren - to travel, ride, drive, go (irregular by virtue of ä)
ich fahre
du fährst
er/sie/es fährt
wir fahren
ihr fahrt
Sie/sie fahren

Finden - to find (regular?)
ich finde
du findest
er/sie/es findet
wir finden
ihr findet
Sie/sie finden

Haben - to have (irregular)
ich habe
du hast
er hat
wir haben
ihr habt
Sie/sie haben

Heißen - to be called (irregular??)
ich heiße
du heißt
er/sie/es heißt
wir heißen
ihr heißt
Sie/sie heißen

Kommen - to come (regular)
ich komme
du kommst
er/sie/es kommt
wir kommen
ihr kommt
Sie/sie kommen

Lernen - to learn (regular)

Sagen - to say, tell, speak (regular)

wir sagen
ihr sagt

Sein - to be (way the fuck irregular)
ich bin
du bist
er/sie/es ist
wir sind
Ihr seid
Sie/sie sind

all right, so today's my german day.
i'm doing other things right now for my homework and studying,
but i might as well post these incomplete notes.
will probably update them throughout the evening.

peace.

zee notes

hallo mein munchkins, es ist Ich, Herr Bliss!
Ich komme hier mit mein anmerkungen heute tag!
Ja, der Grammatik ist scheiße (vermutlich) aber das ist, was ich erhalte, wenn ich Babel Fische benutze!
Ja, makes no sense no? Aber natürlich!
oh well... i tried...

say is anyone else having difficulty with die whole grammar Hausaufgaben?
(oder bin ich kiffen too much?)
i mean some it is really fucking easy, but then some of it...
i mean i can guess, you know, but i still haven't quite got a knack for the gender-differentiation, and i don't like writing in the answer to questions without knowing absolutely that the answer i am giving is the correct one.

oh and for those of you who weren't in class last week
(ha ha! as if any of those people actually read this blog! ha ha! as if anybody reads this blog! i am merely jabbering echoes into silent digital walls!

...where was I?)

die Hausaufgaben for this week was:

übung zwei, seite Vierunddreißig

and review but don't complete:
übung drei, seite fünfunddreißig

now. notes.

KALENDARETAGE

MONTAG - monday
DIENSTAG - tuesday
MITTWOCH - wednesday, "midweek"
DONNERSTAG - thursday

DAS WOCHENENDE

FREITAG - friday
SAMSTAG - saturday
SONNTAG - sunday

NAME

VORNAME - first name
NACHNAME - last name

Where do you come from?
(informal) Wo bist du geboren?
(formal) Wo sind Sie geboren?

I come from British Columbia.
Ich bin in British Columbia geboren.

Wie bist du? - Who are you? (rude)
Was macht dir spaß? - What makes fun for you?
Hast du Hobbys? - do you have hobbies?
das macht spaß - that makes fun!

Sex macht mir spaß! - Sex makes fun for me!
Sex macht ihr spaß! - Sex makes fun for you! (female)
Sex macht ihm spaß! - Sex makes fun for you! (male)
Sex macht Helmut spaß! - Helmut sure likes sex!

for some reason i've got this too:

CAVEMAN DEUTSCHE
Ich bin donkey - I am donkey!
Er/Sie ist donkey - He/She is donkey! (point vigorously)

HOW NOT TO SAY "cool!"
Geil! (sexual connotations...)

HOW TO SAY "cool!"
Toll! (means nice!)

Ach so! means I see! I understand! if you can't follow a conversation in german just nod your head vigorously and say Ach so! every few minutes.

schlafen - sleep
schlaffen - weaken
essen - eat
milch - milk

now here's something interesting-
in class i wrote down "schadenfreude" with definition "mutter"

HOWEVER,
on Babel Fish
schadenfreude translates to: "Harming Joy".
Hmmm!
maybe that's just how they say mutter.
wonder what that's all about. . .

Lesen - reading, to read
kiffen - smoking weed, to smoke weed
spazieren - walking, to walk
bummeln - bumming around

Tennis spielen - tennis player
Umgangssprache - talking around something, "slang".

Now.
ALL NOUNS HAVE GENDERS.
Masculine - der Mann
Feminine - die Frau. (& yet das Madchen, oddly enough)
Neuter - das Kind.

the er, noun or verb or whatever. the second one is the one you choose the gender for. that doesn't make any sense. phuket, i'll just show you:

das bier.
der garten.
das biergarten?
NEIN!!
der biergarten.
Ja???

oh wow, i'm almost at the end.

Ich gehe in die Stadt! - I go into the city!
Ich bin in der Stadt! - I am in the city!
Ich habe den Apfel! - I have the apple!
Ich habe dem Apfel! - I have the apple! (dative)

all right, and i wrote this at the bottom:
die Frauen, die Männer, die kinder

well thats it for mine.
